The advisory board of the director of the gallery, especially in the matters of new acquisitions, is the so-called Purchasing Committee. It considers the compliance of intended acquisitions with the strategy of collection composition, the art-history value of the work, and also the required price in light of the prices of similar artefacts on the domestic market. The director of the Gallery then decides whether to purchase the offered artefact based on the committee’s recommendation. The members of the Purchasing Committee are experts from top art-history research institutions, museums, and galleries, and also from among the top art collectors and dealers.
